Mrs. Elsie M. (Hawthorne) Strasser, 79, 622 S. Walnut St., Blairsville, died
Sept. 24, 1982 in Murry Manor, Murrysville. Born Sept. 30, 1902, at Scottdale,
she was the daughter of the late John J. & Mary Jane (Marshall) Hawthorne. Mrs.
Strasser was a member of St. Paul Evangelical Church in Pittsburgh. She was
preceded in death by a son, Jack, in 1931, two brothers and a sister. Surviving
are her widower, D. J. "Dee" Strasser, a sister, Mrs. William (Dorothy) Lee, of
Cleveland, Ohio, and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends
from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 12 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the Richard
L. Shoemaker Funeral Home, Blairsville. Services will be held in the chapel of
the funeral home at 11 a.m. Monday. Interment will follow in the Union Dale
Cemetery Pittsburgh.
