Scanlon, 85, Glen Campbell RD 1, formerly of Patter- son, N.J., and Fort Pierce, Fla., died Friday, Nov. 28, 1997, at Miners Hospital, Northern Cambria, Span- gler, Pa. The son of John J. and Mary Olgander Scanlon, he was born July 22, 1912, in Saddle River Township, Bergen County, N.J. During World War II, Mr. Scanlon was an Air Force serviceman sta- tioned in Japan. Prior to his retire- ment, he had been employed as a truck driver with United Parcel Service for 50 years. Surviving are the following chil- dren: Frank Scanlon, Hawthorne, N.J.; Michael Scanlon, New York City, N.Y.; Kathleen Nowacki and husband, Lawrence, Glen Campbell RD 1; and Kenneth Scanlon, Patter- son, N.J.; three grandchildren: Sandy Foreback and husband, Mi- chael; Noel Paulina and husband, David; and Kenneth Scanlon; three great-grandchildren: Mitchell and Nicholas Foreback and Jacob Pauli- na; and one sister, Mrs. Margaret Linstra, Toms River, N.J. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor Bowser Scanlon, in 1984; his parents; and two brothers, John and Kenneth Scanlon. A memorial service will be con- ducted at a later date. The Albert E. Rairigh Funeral Home, Hillsdale, is in charge of arrangements.
