Indiana Evening Gazette, April 9, 1955 Mrs. Fanny C. Silvis died at the home of her son, Eric Silvis of Shelocta RD 1, South Bend Township, at 12:10 a.m. today. Born in South Bend May 19, 1859, a daughter of Samuel and Rachel Yockey Allshouse, she had lived all her life in that area and all her married life on the same farm. Friends will be received at the home of her son, Eric, Shelocta, RD 1, until 10 a.m. Monday and from 12 noon to 1 p.m. the hour of service. Monday, April 11, friends may pay their respect at the St. Jacob Lutheran Church, South Bend. The Rev. Howard Amick will conduct services and interment will follow in the South Bend cemetery. A daughter, Mrs. Steele (Edna) Kerr of Indiana, Pa., a son Eric; 15 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren survive; also two brothers, Emerson E. Allshouse of Wilkinsburg and a sister, Mrs. J. P. Noah, of Wilkinsburg.
