Vitals: Obits: SMITH, William R., Indiana Co, PA SUBJECT: SMITH, William R. SUBMITTER: Ann Avery Hunter EMAIL: annh@erols.com DATE: Jul 10, 2000 PASSWORD> SURNAMES: Indiana Progress, 9 March 1904, p. 1: "William Smith, of Parkwood, was found dead along the roadside near his home on Monday afternoon, about 3 o'clock. Mr. Smith had walked from Parkwood to the home of his son, a short distance away, and was on his return home when the sudden summons came. It is supposed that heart trouble or an attack of apoplexy was due to his quick death. He was not out of sight of his son's home when he was seen falling, and his son and and [sic] a neighbor hastened to the spot, but before they reached him he was dead. The deceased was aged 74 years, and was a well-known citizen. The family resided here several years ago. His wife and the following children survive: Mrs. E. E. McAdoo of Ligonier; Mrs. Oliver Wachob of Wilkinsburg; Mrs. George Barron of Greensburg; Mrs. Herbert Crawford of Uniontown; and V. F. Smith of Armstrong Township. Interment will be made this afternoon in the West Union United Presbyterian church cemetery, near West Lebanon."
