Smith for many years undertaker at Willet, Pennsylvania died 27 April 1910 at the home of his daughter Mrs. J. B. Dixon of Homer City to whose home he had gone three weeks prior to his death. The day after his arrival he had a stroke and he was 76 years old, no hope was entertained for his recovery from the first. He was a veteran of the Civil War; lifelong member of the Presbyterian Church in Creekside. He is survivied by one brother Samuel Lucas Smith of Easton, Kansas, and the following children: H. J. Smith of Verona; Mrs. J. B. Dickson of Homer City; Mrs. W. A. Sutton of Wildmerding; Mrs. C. T. Sutton of Willet and Miss Myrtle B. Smith at home. The remains were taken to his home in Washington TWP. Funeral services were conducted there Saturday and he was laid to rest at Plum Creek Cemetery.
