Mrs.. Robert L. SPENCE (Betty L. Cook) 59, 3600 Teakwood Drive, Virginia
Beach, Va., formerly of Indiana, died Sunday  July 26, 1992, at Sentara
Bayside Hospital, Virginia.
The daughter of Vernon H. and Eleanor St.. Clair Cook, she was born Feb. 20,
1933,  in Indiana.   Mrs.. Spence was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist
faith.
Surviving are her husband, Robert L. Spence; one daughter and one son, Terri
A. Smith  and Donald J., both of Virginia Beach; five grandchildren: two
sisters, Lois Trainer,  Indiana and Dorothy Widdowson, Erie; and one brother,
James Cook, Pittsburgh.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Friends were received Wednesday at the Kellam Funeral Home, Virginia Beach. A
grave site  service was held this morning at Princess Anne Memorial Park,
Virginia Beach, with the  Rev. Ralph Stalter officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the
