September 30,1935 Indiana Evening Gazette MRS. LUCINDA JANE (SMYERS) STONE, Punxsutawney, Sept. 30- Mrs. Lucinda Jane (Smyers) Stone, widow of E. Pearl Stone of Big Run, died in Clearfield Memorial Hospital Friday of pneumonia following an operation performed there Monday. She was 47 years old. The deceased was born in Big Run, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Smyers, October 13, 1888, and was united in marriage to E.Pearl Stone February 14,1905 in Big Run, where the young couple went to housekeeping and spent most of their lives. She was a member of the M.E. church of Big Run, Big Run Sisterhood of the Dames of Malta, and the Ladies Auxiliary of the B.L.F. & E. of this city, where she was well and favorably known. One son and one daughter, William, of Salamanca,N.Y., and Mrs. Alma Philips, of Salina,Pa; one sister, Mrs. Jesse Soliday, of Big Run, and one brother, Carl Smyers, also of Big Run, and two grandchildren survive. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today in the late home of the deceased in Big Run, with interment in McClure cemetery.
