Sutton, 90, of Cherry Run, Homer City, died Thursday, Dec. 4, 1997, at his home. The son of Renz and Virginia Woodford Sutton, he was born July 22, 1907, in Gypsy. Mr. Sutton was a former member of BPOE Lodge 981, Indiana. He had worked for R&P Coal Co. and the Pittsburgh Coal Co. as an assistant mine foreman. Survivors include his three broth- ers: Odell, and his wife, the former Lee Trunzo, Camp Hill; Eugene and his wife, the former Donnella Phil- lippi, Black Lick; Paul, Homer City; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Euialia, who died in 1957; his second wife, Ruth Wellen, who died in 1980; two sisters, Margretta Segner and Vivian Mun- shower; and two infant sisters. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday at the C. Frederick Bowser Funeral Home, Homer City, where services will be held Sunday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. R.A. Wallace officiating; Interment will follow in the Greenwood Ceme- tery. A tree will be planted in living memory for Edward J. Sutton.
