Hap served for 38 years in the US Army and the Army National Guard.  He served during the Korean War.  He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Blairsville, PA where he was very active.  He was President of the Administration Board and also the finance board at Church.  He served 3 counties on the Council of Finance & Administration Board for United Methodist Churches.  He was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans, NRA and the Acacia Lodge #355 F&AM. He was the secretary of the Blairsville Cemetery Board for many years.  Hap implemented the Veteran Flag Program at the Cemetery and also started the Pet Cemetery.  He was also an avid hunter having owned many bird dogs.  He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Lila Mae (Forsha) Thomas of Blairsville, PA; daughter, Linda F. McRorie & husband, John of Blairsville, PA and grandchild, Sgt. Jessica  M. McRorie of NYPD, NY.  He was preceded in death by his daughter, Marion Louise Reda and brother, Earl Thomas.  The Family will receive friends on Friday, July 8, 2016 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM.  Acacia Lodge #355 F&AM will conduct masonic services Friday evening in the Funeral Home at 7PM.  A funeral service will be held in the First United Methodist Church, Blairsville, PA on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at 11:00 AM.  Pastor Dan Cunkelman will officiate.  VFW Post #5821 & the American Legion Post #0407 will conduct military services Saturday morning at Church.  Interment will be in the Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.  If so desired, memorial donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 50 S. Walnut St, Blairsville, PA or Blairsville Cemetery, 609 E. Market St, Blairsville, PA 15717.
