February 02, 1888 Mrs. Fannie VanLeer, wife of Mr. J. C. VanLeer of the Union House, Marion, died very suddenly of pneumonia, on Wednesday night last about 11 o'clock. Deceased had been ill for several days, but nothing serious was apprehended until but a few hours before her death. She was aged 42 years and 3 months. The bereaved family has the sympathy of all. Additional Comments: Cannot find any other obituary in Indiana County newspapers. No mention of her family (she had 4 children), where her funeral took place or where she was buried. In her marriage to Joseph C. VanLeer published in the Indiana Democrat on May 23, 1872, it was said she was from Burnside, Pa.
