Alton Raymond Wagner, 86, of North Lima, Ohio, died Thursday, Nov. 29, 1979, at his
residence. A son of Michael and Susan M. Mauk Wagner, he was born Oct. 27, 1893, in
Heshbon. Mr. Wagner was a member of the United Presbyterian Church, Heshbon, and in
1929 served as squire of Brushvalley twp., for a year and a half. In 1955, he
retired from the Pennsylvania Railroad, where he had worked for 29 years on track
maintenance, and from his position as postmaster of Heshbon, which he had held for
39 years. Mr. Wagner was a member of the National Guard for six years. He moved to
North Lima, Ohio, area in 1957. Surviving are his wife, Rebecca B. Byers, whom he
married April 7, 1917; three daughters: Mrs. George (Grace) Haire, New Florence;
Mrs. Lloyd (Martha) Adams, Indiana; Mrs. Fred (Clara) Kline, Erie; six sons:
Everett, Johnstown; Ray, Salineville, Ohio; Calvin, New Springfield, Ohio; Walter,
Youngstown, Ohio; Ronald, Saltsburg; Donald, Boardman, Ohio; 25 grandchildren and 17
great grandchildren. Friends will be received Friday in the Seederly-Mong Funeral
Home, North Lima, Ohio, where services will be conducted Saturday. Rev. Victor
Shields will officiate, with interment in Lake Park Cemetery. Youngstown, Ohio.
