Charles W. Winters Sr., 72, of Blairsville died Sunday, Feb. 27, 1977, at his
home. A son of the late Isaac E. and Margaret Airgood Winters, he was born March
17, 1904, in Canoe Township. Mr. Winters attended the Christian & Missionary
Alliance Church, Blairsville. He lived for the past 29 years in Blairsville.
Surviving are his widow, Lauretta Springer Winters, two sons: Walter W.,
Connellsville; Charles W. Jr., Camp Hill; two daughters: Mrs. George (Peggy)
Stewart, Blairsville RD 4; Mrs. Duane (Judy) Cramer, Vanderbilt; 13
grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; two brothers: Perry, Cleveland, Ohio;
Milton, California; two sisters: Mrs. Arthur (Fannie) Means, Punxsutawney; Mrs.
William (Martha) Winwood, Phoenix, Ariz. He was preceded in death by a brother,
Paul, and three sisters, Rosie, Lottie and Sara. The family is receiving friends
from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today and Tuesday at the Richard L. Shoemaker Funeral
Home, Blairsville, where services will be held in the chapel Wednesday at 11
a.m. with Pastor Melvin Dolby and Pastor William Wood officiating. Interment
will be in Oakland Cemetery, Indiana.
