Born on July 6, 1924, in Heilwood, he was the son of Vasil and Anna Hanyak Zapotocky. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in World War II, and had been a member of the Spangler VFW and the Heilwood American Legion Post. He was a retired coal miner. Surviving are a stepdaughter, Carol SmitTh, of W. Va.; two sons, Peter C., Heilwood, and John E., Florida, and one daughter, Anna P. Zimmerman, Penn Run; eight grandchildren and one great-grand- son, and a sister, Helen Domalik, Heilwood. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Michael, Andrew and Joseph, and two sisters, Mary Stahursky and Margaret Gur- ko. Friends will be received from 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the Moriconi Fu- neral Home in Spangler where ser- vices will be held at 11 a.m. Friday. Father George Hantko will officiate and interment will be in the Manor Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded by VFW and Legion Posts.
