AND JANE MARSHALL, aged 15 years and 6 months. 14 August 1855 Several apples, which grew on the farm of MR. JOHN BRYAN, of White township, and present a strange freak of nature, were left at our office by a friend a few days since. There are two, and in one instance, three distinct apples, which are grown together, on one stem. A grey crane, measuring 6 feet, 3 inches, from the tip of one wing to the tip of the other, was shot on last Saturday by our townsman MR. JOHN KESLAR, in the little creek close to the east end of town. DIED. On Sabbath, the 5th inst., LYDIA, wife of ABRAHAM DAVIS, ESQ., of South Mahoning township, aged 64 years. The deceased has lived during life an ornament to Society, and for many years a member of the Regular Baptist Church at Mahoning, which will deeply mourn the loss of a useful member. She has left an aged companion very lonely to weep, yet we need not weep for her as those who have no hope. O how happy to see the believer fall asleep in Jesus. Dry the tears for dearest mother-- With the blessed angels leave her; Of form so soft and fair, Give to earth the tender care. All is light and peace with mother; There the darkness cometh never; Tears are wiped, and fetters fall, And the Lord is all in all. Weep no more for happy mother; Wrong and sin no more grieve her; Care and pain and weariness, Lost in love so measureless. O for a faith like my dear mother, Lighting all the solemn river, and the blessings of the poor, Wafting to the Heavenly shore. -JH 21 August 1855 -none 28 August 1855 -none
