On Saturday night, last, CATHARINE, daughter of MR. HENRY BOUCHER, of White township, aged about 19 years. 17 March 1857 MARRIED. On Thursday, February 20th, by Rev. Byron Porter, MR. JOSHUA EARHART near Saltsburg, to MISS ELIZABETH HENDERSON, of Armstrong county. --On Thursday, the 5th inst., by the same, MR. JAMES MANNERS, of Armstrong county, to MISS MARY, daughter of MR. JOSEPH PEELOR, of Indiana county. DIED. In this borough, on Tuesday morning last, MR. FERGUS MOORHEAD, aged 5( ) years. 24 March 1857 MARRIED. On February 18th, by Rev. John Carrothers, MR. THOMAS EWING, to MISS LOUISA GOURLEY, daughter of JAMES GOURLEY, both of North Mahoning township. --On March 12th, by the same, MR. WILLIAM WARDEN, of New Bethlehem, Clarion county, to MISS ELIZABETH MO( )SON, of South Mahoning township, this county. --On Thursday, the 12th inst., by Samuel Rice, Esq., MR. DAVID RUFFNER, to MISS JANE ELEANOR, daughter of COL. THOMAS C. KERR, all of Montgomery township. 31 March 1857 -none 7 April 1857 ROBBERY. On last Monday, MR. H. McILWAINE, of Saltsburg, while returning home from Westmoreland was assaulted and knocked off his horse, and robbed of about $200 and a gold watch. Mr. M. is very badly cut across the face and received several severe blows on the head. JOHN UNCAPHER, WILLIAM SPEEDY, JOHN DODSON AND ANDREW M'CREARY of Livermore, and JESSE SMITH AND MILTON KIMMELL, of Tunnelton, all took the cars at Blairsville, on Thursday last, for Kansas Territory. ACCIDENT. MR. JACOB MARKS residing near Diamond Mills, was shot in the thigh, some ten days ago, by the accidental discharge of a rifle in the hands of MR. FERGUSON. He is recovering. MR. PETER MAKIN, of Blacklick township, while running from a tree which he was felling, stumbled and fell on the edge of his axe and was so badly cut that he died from the effects of the wounds. DIED. In this borough, on the 3rd inst., MISS SARAH G. MARSHALL, daughter of JOHN S. MARSHALL, aged 19 years, and 3 days. 14 April 1857 DIED. On the 3d ult., in Plumville, South Mahoning township, JOSEPH C. DOUDS, son of S.W. DOUDS, aged 11 years (7) months and 16 days. 21 April 1857 -none 28 April 1857 -none 5 May 1857 WESTWARD HO! --A company of active men from this county and Westmoreland will start for the "Far West" on next Thursday, with a design of purchasing lands and engaging in business. COLONELS M'QUAIDE AND COULTER are amongst the number. WILLIAM H. KINTER and JAMES G. CALDWELL, of this place, are also of the company. The tide of emigration is running briskly this season from all points in the El Dorado of the West, transferring thither much of the capital and enterprise of the States, whereby the wilderness must necessarily be made to blossom as the rose, and villages and cities caused to spring up where hitherto the savage and the wild beast have exercised undisturbed dominion. 12 May 1857 WESTWARD. --Yesterday DR. JAMES M. TAYLOR, of this place, accompanied by his family, left on the cars for Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where he intends pursuing his profession. The Dr. is an estimable man and skillful practitioner and carries with him to his new home the good wishes of this community. DIED. On the 4th inst., MR. ANDREW GROFT, of this borough, aged 43 years. 19 May 1857 DEAD. We regret to learn that our former townsman, WILLIAM M'CRACKEN, ESQ., died at his residence in Fairfield, Jefferson county, Iowa, on the 7th inst. MR. M. had been suffering for some eight or ten days with inflammation of the lungs and appeared to be improving, being able to sit up, when he was suddenly seized with something resembling apoplexy, which terminated his existence in about twelve hours. He was aged about 52 years and leaves a large circle of friends to mourn his departure. MARRIED. On Thursday, May 14th, by Rev. (S.) P. Bollman, MR. WILLIAM SHIELDS (to) MISS ELIZABETH JOHNSTON, all of Washington township, Indiana county, Pa. 26 May 1857 DROWNED. A friend sends us the particulars of the death, by drowning, of MR. JACOB T. HOOVER, of Smicksburg. It appears that on the 6th inst., the deceased was accidentally thrown from a raft on the making, and before assistance could be rendered, sank and found a watery grave. On the 17th his body was found several miles below from where he sank, and on the 18th was interred at Smicksburg. The deceased had been for some years a member of the Ev. Lutheran Church; was married in December last, and leaves a wife, an aged father and mother, and numerous friends to mourn his exit. Truly, "in the midst of life we are in death." 2 June 1857 DIED. On last Saturday morning, MARY AGNES, infant daughter of MR. SAMUEL TRIMBLE, of this borough, aged 2 years and 9 months. 9 June 1857 MARRIED. On the 28th ult., in Washington township, by the Rev. John Caruthers, REV. JOHN RICE to MISS LOUISA M. DIVEN. DIED. On the 2d inst., infant daughter of GEORGE AND SUSANNA BECK, of this borough. 16 June 1857 "HOME AGAIN." --MR. JOHN H. KINTER, of this borough, and MR. JOSEPH BOGGS, of White township, returned home the other day from the West, where they have been sojourning for some time. 23 June 1857 ROBBERY. On Sunday night a week the store of JOHN Y. SMITTEN, in North Mahoning township, was robbed of some dry goods and boots and about $30 in cash. A pocket book, containing a number of promisory notes, was also taken from the drawer, but was also found the next day, several of the notes missing. The scoundrels effected an entrance by breaking a hole in the cellar wall and having got into the cellar, ascended to the store room by the stairs. MARRIED. By Rev. P. Sahm on 15th inst., M(R.) WILLIAM FISHER to MISS ANORA O( )NEAN, both of White township. DIED. On the 7th inst., in Green township, AGNES JANE, infant daughter of JOSIAH AND MARY ANN SHIELDS, aged about ( ) months.
