Indiana Messenger, October 8, 1931 MARRIAGES Wherry-Walker--On the 20th of September, John N. Wherry, of South Bend, to Sallie Walker, of Shelocta. May 28, 1936 Ernest L. Wherry to John V. Wherry, 1-2 interest in lot in Indiana, third ward, $1.00. Indiana Progress July 4, 1900 Mr. T. M. Wherry, of Sabetha, Kan., is the guest of his brother, John N. Wherry. He is accompanied by his wife and son. Mr. Wherry has been in Kansas for 14 years and this is his first visit to his old home. May 19, 1937 Mrs. Elizabeth Wherry Services were held on Monday afternoon in the Robinson Funeral Home on North Seventh street, followed by interment in the South Bend cemetery, for Mrs. Elizabeth Wherry, a resident of Indiana for the past 12 years, who died on Friday in her home on West Church street from complications. The deceased, who was the widow of James Wherry, was born April 8, 1859, in the South Bend community in Armstrong county, where she resided during the greater part of her life. Before locating in Indiana she resided for a short period in New Florence. She was one of the esteemed residents of the community and held membership with the Presbyterian church. The funeral rites were conducted by Dr. R. M. Offutt of town. Surviving are these seven sons: Clark Wherry, of Bolivar; Chauncey Wherry, of Derry; Dwight Wherry, of Johnstown; John Wherry, of Grove City, Ernest Wherry, at home; Alfred Wherry, of Baltimore, and Thomas Wherry, of Elizabeth, N. J. She also leaves 16 grandchildren and two great grandchildren and these brothers and sisters: Clay King and Mrs. Margaret Iseman, of Indiana; Elder King, of West Lebanon, and Mrs. Anna Cavanaugh and Wallace King. July 11, 1937 Mrs. Hattie Stewart and daughter, Sara, called to see John Wherry at South Bend recently.
