	In the name of God, Amen. I, John B. Beatty, of the Township of Armstrong in
the County of Indiana,  being sound in mind and memory and understanding ( thanks be
to the Almighty God for the same )  being mindful of my mortality, do make and ordain
this, my last will and testament.
First and principally , I recommend my soul to God who gave it, in hopes of a joyful
resurrection, and my body to the earth to be buried decently. And as to such worldly
estate  wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me, I give and dispose thereof as follows:
Item. It is my will, and I do order and direct that my beloved wife, Margaret Beatty, shall
have a good and decent living  as long as she remains my widow, 
Next, I do give and bequeath to my sons, Diven Peeler and Robert Edward Beatty that
plantation I now live on, to them and their heirs forever, them supporting and
maintaining 
their mother so long as she remains my widow,. And furtrher, I do allow to my son,
Daniel Pressley, the sum of five hundred dollars  to be paid by my sons, Diven Peeler and
Robert Edward, to be paid in gailes of  one hundred dollars yearly , as soon as he is of
age, he shall have the sum of one hundred dollars , and so on, to be paid out. 
I also will and bequeath to my wife, Margaret, one bed and bedding and one bureau  and
one set of chairs and kitchen furniture  as long as she remains my widow. 
I also allow my sons, Diven Peeler and Robert Edward  my wagon and wagon bed. I
allow them the team of horses and three milk cows. 
But I allow my wife, Margaret, the management  until they are eighteen years of age, if
she is my widow so long.
The remainder of my personal properrty I allow to be sold, and all my just debts to be
paid off , and if there is a balance,  I allow twenty five dollars to be applied to buying of
books  for the Shelocta Branch Bible Class, the remainder to be divided  among my three
sons, Diven Peeler, Robert Edward,  and David Pressley
I publish this, and declare no other, to be my last will and testament. In witness whereof,
I have hereunto  set my hand and seal  the third day of August in the year of our Lord 
One Thousand Eight Hundred and Fifty Seven , and sealed in the presence of John
Cunningham and  James Thompson. 				John B. Beatty

Indiana County. Be it remembered  that on the twenty eighth day of August in the year of
our Lord  One Thousamd Eight Hundred and Fifty Seven , before me, John H.
Sichteberger , Register for the Probate of Wills  and granting Letters of Administration 
in and for said County, was duly proved and approved the foregoing instrument of
writing  as and for the Last Will and Testament of John B. Beatty, late of Armstrong
Township said County , deceased, by the oaths of John Cunningham and James
Thompson, the subscribing witnesses thereto . Same day ; letters of administration  cum
testaments granted to Margaret Beatty and John Cunningham, they having first given
bond  to the Commonwealth  in the sum of $2000.00 , with David Blakeny  and James
Thompson as sureties. Same day, administrators duly sworn according to law.
