Rankin a resider-of Washington Township in the County of Indiana and the State of Pennsylvania being of sound mind memory and understanding do make this my last will and Testament hearby revoking and making void all former wills heretofore made by me. I dispose of my property as follows: First: I direct that all my honest debts and expences be paid out of my estate as soon as possible after my death by my executors. Second: I will devise and bequeath to my son William S. Rankin fifty acres of my farm situate in Washington Township, Indiana County, State of Pennsylvania, where I now live. William S. Rankin to have fifty acres taken off the north end of the farm with the lot-which is fenced in *with the buildings on* *and to have the garden with the lot.* All the balence of my farm I give to my wife Isabell (Smith) Rankin to have and hold her life from and to be at her control at her death then the remaining portion of the farm after Williams portion is taken off to be divided. First my son Frank Rankin to have the one half of the remaining part-with the buildings on the other half to be equally divided between my son Taylor Rankin and my Daughter Melissa J. Rankin married to James Speedy. I will and bequeath to my wife Isabell(Smith) Rankin all of my household goods and kitchen furniture and to have the two cows and one horse the ones I own at my death. I give to my son Frank Rankin all of my farming machinery and implements, the balence of my property including grainry to be sold after my death and the proceeds to be applyed to paying of debts and expences if any left after debts and expences are payed go to my wife-Isabell Rankin. I direct that my son William S. Rankin is to pay one half of the expences of my Doctor bills and funeral and Frank Rankin the other half. I hereby appoint my two sons William S. Rankin and Frank Rankin my executors in this my last will and Testament. In witnesses whereof I have hereunto set my hand and made my seal this thirteenth day of November One Thousand nine Hundred and one in the presence of these witnesses and in presence of each other. Trout subscribing witnesses to the forgoing instrument of writing, purporting to be the Last Will and Testament of Matthew T. Rankin late of Washington Twp. in the County of Indiana deceased, who being sworn according to law, depose and say that they were personally present and saw and heard the said testator sign, seal and declare the foregoing instrument of writing, as and for his Last Will and Testament, and that they signed their names as witnesses to said instrument of writing in the presence of said testator and at his request and in the presence of each other, and then time of signing the same he, the said testator was of sound and deposing mind, memory and understanding, to the best of their knowledge and belief, and that as they shall answer to God at the Great Day.
