G. Gourley, (Sheriff) -to- The Mut. B. and L. Asso. of Du Bois. To all to whom there Presents shall come, I, David G. Gourley, Esq., High Sheriff of the County of Jefferson, in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, sendeth greeting: Whereas by a certain writ of Levari Facias, issued out of the Court of Common Pleas for the County of Jefferson tested at Brookville, the 8th day of April, 1896 to the said Sheriff directed, he was commanded that without any other writ of the lands and tenements of A. A. Swab and Flora A. Swab, D. F. Swab and Elizabeth Swab, late of his County, in his bailiwick towit: of a certain messuage. All that certain lot or piece of land situate, lying and being in the village of Rathmel, Winslow Township, Jefferson County Pennsylvania, bounded and described as follows: On the South by township road, fifty (50) feet, On the West by Lot No. 179 one Hundred and fifty (150) feet, On the North by an alley fifty (50) feet, and on the East by lot No. 181, one hundred and fifty (150) feet. Containing 7,500 square feet, being Known and numbered on the Bell, Lewis & Yates Coal Mining Company's plan of lots in The said village of Rathmel. as lot No. 180, and having theron erected one frame building used as a dwelling house and store-room, 20 X 50 feet, 2 stories high. Also another building used as a dress-making room, 16 X 20 feet, one story high, stable 16 X 24 feet. Well of water, Necessary out buildings, with the appurtenances so seized and taken in Execution he should Expose to sale, and that he should have those moneys, before the Judges of the said Court at Brookville, at a County Court of Common Pleas, there to be held for the County of Jefferson, the 11th day of May then next to render to said The Mutual Building and Loan Association of Du Bois Pa. for its debt and damages afore said. And whereas the said Sheriff having given due and legal notice of the time and place of sale of the said messuage & c,. he did on Friday, the Eighth day of May at the Court House in Brookville Borough, expose the same to sale by public vendue or out-cry, and sold the same to The Mutual Building and Loan Association of Du Bois Pa. for the sum of Three Hundred ($300.00) Dollars. It being the highest bidder and that the highest and best price bidden for the same. Now Know Ye, that the said Sheriff for and in consideration of the aforesaid sum of Three Hundred ($300.00) Dollars, to him in hand paid by the said The Mutual Building and Loan Assciation of Du Bois, Pa. at and before the unsealing and delivery hereof, the reciept whereof he doth hereby acknowledge, hath granted, bargained and sold, and by these presents, according to the directions of the said recited writ, and by force and virtue thereof, doth grant, bargain and sell unto the said The Mutual Building and Loan Association of Du Bois Pa. Its successors and assigns, all that the said messuage, hereinbefore described, together with all and singular the buildings, improvements, rights, members and appurtenances whatsoever thereunto belonging, is in anywise appertaining, and the reversions and remainders, rents, issues, and profits thereof. And also all the estate, right, title interst, property, claim and demand whatsoever of them, the said A. A. Swab and Flora A. Swab, D. F. Swab and Elizabeth Swab of in to or out of the same; to have and to hold the said messuage, tract, piece, parcel in lot of land, hereditaments and premises hereby granted, is mentioned and intended so to be, with the appurtenances, unto the said The Mutual Building and Loan Association of Du Bois, Pa., Its successors and assigns, to It and their only proper use and behoof forever, for such estate, and under such rents and conditions as the said A. A. Swab and Flora A. Swab, D. F. Swab and Elizabeth Swab, had and held the same at and immediately before the taking thereof in execution, but for no larger or greater estate than they the said A. A. Swab, Flora A. Swab, D. F. Swab and Elizabeth Swab, then and there had and held the same, according to the form and effect of the laws and usage of this Commonwealth, in such case made and provided. Gourley, Sheriff State of Pennsylvania } SS: County of Jefferson. } Be it remembered, that on the Fourteenth day of May AD. 1896 in open Court of Common Pleas of said County, and before the Judges of said Court came David G. Gourley Esquire, High Sheriff of said County, and acknowledged the above and foregoing Deed Poll, to be his act and deed, and desired that acknowledgement of said Deed might be entered of record amoung the proceedings of the said Court, and the same was thereupon entered in Book 2, of acknowledgements of Sheriff's Deeds, at Page 211.
