She was aged 85 years, 6 months and 10 days. Mrs. Buffington was born in Red Bank Township, Armstrong County on October 16, 1840, the daughter of George and Rebecca Harring. She was united in marriage to Isaac Buffington at Langville, Jefferson County on June 13, 1860, with the Rev. Runk officiating. Of ten children born, the following survive: W.G. Buffington, former Register and Recorder and County Treasurer of Jefferson county, of Brookville; E.C. Buffington of Brookville; Dr. A.C. Buffington of Akron, Ohio; Rebecca, wife of William Witherow, of Brookville, Maude, wife of Amos Michael of Rose township; Miss Hattie at home. The husband, aged 86, survives, and also 35 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. The deceased was a member of the Evangelical Church for many years, most recently being a member of the Timblin Church. She was devout in her religious duties, and carried Christian principles into her everyday life. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon, at 1:30 p.m. from the home of the deceased at Railroad Street, with the Reverend S.A. Miller, pastor of the Evangelical Church of Brookville officiating, and interment was made in Brookville Cemetery. The pall bearers were made up from the grandsons of the deceased.
