"Ted" Himes, 82, of Hawthorn, died Thursday, February 15, 1990 at the Pennsylvania Memorial Home in Brookville. Mr. Himes was born December 16, 1907 in Redbank Township, Armstrong County, the son of George B. and Lenora L. (Crissman) Himes. He was married October 27, 1937 to the former Alda B. Boddorf, who preceded him in death on August 1, 1989. He was an engineer for the People's Natural Gas Company and a member of the Springside Baptist Church of New Bethlehem. Surviving relatives include one daughter, Erma Jean Carpenter of Snyderville, N.Y.: two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; four sisters: Mrs. Twila Smith of Kissimmee, Fla., Mrs. Ruth Wolfgang of Summerville R.D. 2, Mrs. Dorothy Miller of Rimersburg, and Mrs. Jane Hinderliter of Trenton, Mich.; and two brothers: Carl Himes of Long Beach, Calif., and Paul Himes of Harrisburg. In addition to his wife, he was preceded by his parents and two brothers, Ervin Himes and James Himes. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the Charles D. Alcorn Funeral Home of Hawthorn. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. The Rev. Kenneth Brougham will officiate. Interment will be at Hawthorn Cemetery.
