Wingard, 78, of 195 Barbour St. died at 8:45 a.m. Monday in the Bradford Nursing Pavilion where she had been a guest since Jan. 22. She was born July 27, 1904, in Brockway, a daughter of the late Elmer and Mary Schuckers Calhoun. She married Russell D. Wingard, who survives. Mrs. Wingard attended the Miller Grade School and graduated from the Snyder Township High School, both in Jefferson County. She also graduated from Clarion State College. She taught the second grade at M. J. Ryan School in Lafayette from 1947 until her retirement in 1969. She was a member of the Lafayette Evangelical Community Church and the Pennsylvania Teachers Retirement Association. Surviving besides her husband are two sons, Morris Wingard of Lockport, N.Y., and Donald Wingard of Clarence, N.Y.; four grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Olive Anderson of Brockway; and several nieces and nephews.
