Paul E. Brewer, 60, of Mifflintown RR2, died Thursday afternoon, July 3, 1997, at Polyclinic Medical Center, Harrisburg. He was born August 3, 1936 in Annville, a son of Helen Elizabeth [Meyers] Brewer of Cedar Haven Nursing Home, Lebanon, and the late Paul William Brewer. He attended Annville/Cleona High School and served in the United States Army from July 1955 to November 1958, with more than a year in Korea. His wife, the former Hettie B. Yoder, whom he married October 12, 1985, survives. In addition to his mother and wife, he is survived by four daughters, Debra J. Henry, HC 67, Mifflin, Teresa J. Davis, Zionsville, Carol G. Diven, Mifflintown RR2, and Paulette M. Forry, McAlisterville RR2; two sons, Timothy E., Port Royal, and Thomas P., McVeytown; 14 grandchildren; his first wife, Catherine J. [Flood] Brewer, Richfield; two sisters, Ruth Ann Young, Lebanon, and Phyllis Bentz, Annville; and four brothers, Joseph, James and Ronald of Lebanon and Richard of Selinsgrove. He was predeceased by a sister, Grace Brewer. He retired in 1991 due to ill health from MTA, Elizabethtown, where he was a truck driving instructor for four years. Except for a few years as a ranch hand in Wyoming, he was a truck driver for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation; Princess Home, Middleburg; Empire Kosher, Mifflintown; Shaffer Trucking New Kingston; Morgan Drive-A-Way, Leola, and Eazor Express, Loganton. He also provided a transport service for the Amish community from 1981 to 1983. He was a member of South Juniata Baptist Church, Honey Grove; Walker Grange No. 786, Mexico; and a past member of Juniata Emergency Team CB Club and Thompsontown Area Lions Club and Fire Department. He was a collector of Winross and Ertl model trucks and hats. The funeral service was held Tuesday at the Ronald C. Sheaffer Funeral Home, McAlisterville, with Rev. Elaine L. Fogarty officiating. Interment followed in Lost Creek Presbyterian Cemetery, McAlisterville.
