(Mifflintown, Pa.) 1846-1873: June 18, 1873 At Hollidaysburg, on the 14th inst., Dr. R. W. Christy, in the 57th year of his age. Robert W. Christy was born in Lost Creek Valley, Juniata county, some three miles from Mifflintown, on the 27th of June, 1816, and was consequently almost 57 years of age at the time of his death. His father, Daniel Christy, was a man of considerable repute, having been an Associate Judge of Juniata county and also one of the commissioners who located the county seat of Blair county at the time of the formation of the county. The subject of this notice came to Hollidaysburg in 1830 ('39?), and began to read medicine with his brother, Dr. James Christy, who was a physician of great skill, as our older citizens well remember. Graduating in 1841, Dr. Christy immediately began the practice of medicine in this county... He connected himself with the Presbyterian Church while very young... In 1857 he was elected to the lower branch of the Legislature from Blair county. He was an honorable member...
