Molson JLMolson@aol.com January 14, 2005, 2:21 pm Freeport Journal Standard, 20 Feb 1933 EDWARD I. LYONS (1879 Ð 1933) Edward I. Lyons, a resident of Freeport for the past fourteen years, passed away at a local hospital about 9:30 oÕclock last night. Mr. Lyons had been in failing health for the past two years but did not become critically ill until ten days ago. Mr. Lyons was born in Pennsylvania, March 18, 1879. He was united in marriage to Almeda Becke in 1906. Besides his widow he leaves one son, Emery Lyons, Freeport. There are also two brothers and a sister; William Lyons, Freeport; Mrs. Sadie Rich and Emery Lyons residing in Pennsylvania. Mr. Lyons had been employed for the past several years by the Furst-McNess company. He was affiliated with the First English Lutheran church. Funeral services will be conducted from the Walker Mortuary, West Main street, at 1:30 oÕclock Wednesday afternoon. Rev. E. P. Scharf, pastor of the First Lutheran church, will conduct the services and interment will be made in the Lena cemetery.
