At 7.40 o'clock last evening Mrs. Sarah Trostle, of McAllistersville, Juniata county, died suddenly at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Perry L. Grubb, 827 Fourth avenue, of diseases incident to old age. Deceased was visiting her daughter and came to this city last Tuesday. She contracted a cold on her journey here and yesterday morning was taken suddenly ill and continued to sink rapidly until she passed into the great beyond. Her maiden name was Smith and she was born at McAllistersville, May 27, 1827. She was twice married. In 1844 she married David Hostetler, and of this union the following children survive: Mrs. Elizabeth Grubb, Altoona; Mrs. Maggie Stroup, Oriental, Juniata county; Mrs. J. B. Bardo, Montoursville; Mrs. David W. Smith, Gageville, O.; Mrs. James McKnight, McAllistersville; John A. Hostetler, Wooster, O., and David Hostetler, of McAllistersville. After the death of Mr. Hostetler she married Andrew Trostle, who preceded her to the grave. One daughter, Mrs. Samuel Gingrich, of McAllistersville, survives as do also two sisters, Mrs. Martha Snowberger, of Curryville, Blair county, and Mrs. Barbara Hostetler, of McAllistersville, and one brother, Samuel B. Smith, of Bradford, Ohio. Mrs. Trostle was a devout Christian woman and a life long member of the Brethren church. Funeral services will be conducted at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Grubb, this evening. The remains will be taken to McAllistersville Wednesday morning for interment.
