Mr. Cannon had for some time been suffering from erysipelas, but at no time had his condition been regared as dangerous, and a medical man was not called in until a few minutes before the end. Deceased was well known in this city, where he won a large number of sincere friends. He was born in Carbondale in January, 1855 and came to the city as a child. For many years he has conducted a hotel on Jackson Street. He was prominent member of the A.O.H.R. of E and the CMBA, Branch 44, and took an active interest in the affairs of both organizations. He is survived by a widow and two daughters Gertrude, now at Bloomsburg, And Loretta. He was the brother of Michael, Thomas, Henry and William Cannon, mail carrier and Mrs. Mary Connolly.
