This file was submitted for use in the USGenWeb Project Archives by Kim Straight 1998 2:36 PM Scranton Republican August 22, 1924 ARCHBALD KLIMBAUER DIES AFTER BEING INJURED IN MINE Archbald, Pa., Aug. 22 - Matthew Klimbauer [Kleinbauer], Sr., among the best known residents of Hill street, died almost instantly yesterday morning when a piece of coal fell, striking him on the head, in the Hudson Coal company colliery at Jermyn. The deceased was a devout member of St. Thomas Aquinas church and the Holy Name and other societies of the church. He was born in Germany and came to this country about thirty-three years ago, settling on Hill street, where he has resided ever since. Besides his widow he is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Fred Simon and Mrs. Kenneth Keogh, of this place; Mrs. Peter Kelly [Keller], or Corning, NY, and Mrs. Richard Coleman, of Chester, and three sons, Matthew, Frank and Cornelius, all of this place. The funeral will be held Monday morning with a high mass of requiem in St. Thomas Church. Burial will be in St. Thomas cemetery.
