The remains were moved to the home of his daughter, Mrs. Oscar Miner, 624 Quincy Avenue. The funeral will take place on friday morning at 9 o'clock, with services at St. Peter's Cathedral, interment in Cathedral Cemetery. The deceased was a member of the DL&W Mutual Aid and of the Taylor Branch of C.M.B.A. The Tribune-Republican Wednesday October 19, 1910 Foreman Ryan Killed By Car Leaving Tracks. Two Foreigners Escaped Accident Caused By Accidentally Setting Brakes. John Ryan, Aged Fifty Years Of Dalton, Employed As Section Hand Foreman By The Lackawanna Railroad Was Fatally Injured Shortly After 6 O'clock Last Night By A Handcae Jumping The Track One Mile West Of La Plume Station. He Was Hurried To This City Dying In The Baggage Room Of The Local Station. Two Foreigners, Who Were Assisting In Running The Car At The Timr Of The Accident, Escaped Unhurt. Ryan Was Superintending The Work Of Making Repairs On The Tracks Between Factoryville And La Plume When The 6 O'clock Whistle Blew, He Boarded A Handcar Together With Two Laborers And Started For His Home In Dalton. The Party Had Gone About One Mile When The Accident Happened. One Of The Men Accidentally Applied The Brakes, The Sudden Gripping Of The Wheels Causing The Car To "Fly" From The Tracks. Ryan Sustained Internal Injuries, Assistance Was Summoned From The Dalton Station And The Injured Man Was Rushed To This City In A Special Engine And Car.
