I give to the Reverend E. J. Flood of this borough of Clarks Summit, Pa. the sum of five hundred dollars, in trust however for the following purpose: To be paid to my son Paul when within a reasonable period he exercises the right of the catholic church as a catholic should and in such a manner as pleases the trustee herein: this reasonable period of time is to be measured by and as the said trustee in his judgement serves test and if at such period, my son Paul persists in his present abandoment to his--the catholic church. Then this money is to be used by the paid Reverend E. J. Flood in offerings for masses for the welfare of her said son Paul. I give to the Reverend E. J. Flood aforesaid the sum of eighty five dollars the same to be used by him as offerings for masses for the souls of myself, my deceased husband John and my deceased children Edward and Gertrude. All the rest of my property I give to my children Frank and Helen share and share alike. I name my daughter Catherine Miner executor. This will Excuted by me June 20th 1913. note: no mention of her 5 year old son that died, Robert, or her daughter Anna "Nettie" Ryan Stevens My grandfather Paul James Ryan married a protestant.
