The following information was extracted from the Powl Family Bible which has 
been inherited by successive generations. Josias (or Josiah) changed the 
spelling of his name from Powell to Powl. Josiah and Barbara Powl lived in 
Earl Twp., Lancaster County, Pa. All of their children were baptized at the 
Bergstrasse Lutheran Church. (material in brackets added for clarification)

Josias Powl was born on the 15th day of July A.D. 1816
Barbara Gerber was born on the 15th day of October A.D. 1816
The above named persons were married on the 25th day of September A.D. 1836
