May Term 1797
  At an Orphans Court held at Huntingdon for the County of Huntingdon on 
Tuesday the ninth Day of May AD:  One Thousand Seven hundred & ninety seven 
before David Stuart & Benjamin Elliot Esq; Judges of the Court of Common Pleas.
  The Petition of Elizabeth Graft was read as follows:
To the honorable the Judges of the orphans Court for the County of Huntingdon
  The Petition of Elizabeth Graft a minor above the age of fourteen years 
respectfully showeth that you Petitioner is a daughter of John Graft late of 
Lancaster County Deceased That her mother intermarried with David Eshelman 
late Deceased  That your Petitioner at present resides with and under the care 
of her said Mother now the widow & relict of said David Eshelman Dcd.
  That she is above the age of fourteen years and is intitled to some property 
and is without any person Legally authorized to take Charge of her person 
Education & property she therefore prays the honorable Court  will be pleased 
to admit her to appear and choose a Guardian and as in duty bound.
  Wherupon it is ordered by the Court that she be admitted to appear & choose 
a Guardian or guardians and the said Elizabeth appearing court and having made 
choise of Jacob Graft of Lancaster County it is ordered that the said Jacob 
Graft be appointed her Guardian according to the prayer of her Petition.

Additional Comments:
This Elizabeth Groft is apparently the sister of Jacob A. Grove (Groff), who 
came from Lancaster Co to Huntingdon Co. about 1795.  Elizabeth married John 
Huyett.
