Written: October 5, 1826 Unrecorded deed 1: This Indenture made the fifth day of October in the Year of our 2: Lord, One thousand eight hundred and twenty six Between 3: Christian Good (alias Guth) of Brecknock Township, Lancaster County, and 4: State of Pennsylvania, Yeoman, and Barbara his wife, of the one part: and Samuel Bowman, of the same place, Merchant, of the other part 5: Witnesseth that the said Christian Good, and Barbara his wife for and in consideration of the sum of One hundred and ninety five dollars 6: lawful money of the State of Pennsylvania, to them in hand, well and truly paid, by the said Samuel Bowman, 7: at and before the ensealing and delivery hereof, the receipt whereof they do hereby acknowledge, and thereof do acquit and forever discharge the said Samuel Bowman, 8: and his Heirs, Executors and Administrators, By These Presents, have granted, bargained, sold, aliened, enfeoffed, released and confirmed, and by these Presents do grant, 9: bargain, sell, alien, enfeoff, release and confirm unto the said Samuel Bowman and to his Heirs and Assigns, All That Certain Messuage 10: Tenement, and Lot of Land, Situate, laying and being in the Township of Brecknock, County of Lancaster, and State of Pennsylvania aforesaid, bounded and des- 11: cribed by the courses and distances following, to wit. Beginning at a stone in the public road, in a line of Daniel Bowman's land, and extending along said 12: road, South one half degrees East, fifteen perches and seven tenths to stones, thence by land of said Christian Good, North eighty five degrees and a half East, sixteen 13: perches and six tenths to stones, North nine degrees east, eighteen perches and five tenths to a stone near a post of the grave yard fence, thence by the Grave- 14: Yard, South Eighty degrees and a quarter West, four perches and seven tenths to a post, North Seven degrees and a half West, two perches and one tenth to a stone 15: thence by land of Daniel Bowman, South Seventy degrees and a half west, fifteen perches and five tenths to the place of Beginning, containing two acres of 16: land, strict measure. [Together with the privilege of using a certain spring on the land of said Christian Good, situated in a Eastern direction from the above described Lot 17: about one hundred and fifty yards distant from it; and privilege and right to conduct the water of said spring in pipes, in, on and upon the said lot, and right 18: and privilege to dig a ditch, through the land of said Christian Good, for laying said pipes, and at all times to dig up said pipes for repairing them, without molestation or hindrance 19: forever.] It being part and parcel of a larger Tract of Seventy four acres, and three quarters of an acre, and the usual allowance, which Christian Bowman and Peter 20: Musser, Executors of the last will and Testament of John Good, late of the same place aforesaid, yeoman, deceased, by virtue, power and authority of said last will, by their 21: Indenture, dated the second day of June A.D. 1798, granted, conveyed and confirmed unto the above named Christian Good (party hereto) his heirs and assigns forever 22: as in and by said Indenture, duly made and executed, and intended to be recorded, recourse thereunto being had, will more fully appear. 23: Together, also, with all and singular the Houses, Out-houses, Barns, Stables, Gardens, Orchards, Meadows, Fields, Fences, Ways, Woods, Waters, Water-courses, Rights, Liberties, Privileges, Hereditaments and Appertenances 24: whatsoever thereunto belonging, or in any wise appertaining: 25: And the Reversions and Remainders, Rents, Issues and Profits thereof; and also, all the Estate, Right, Title, Interest, Use, Trust, Property, Possession, Claim and Demand, whatsoever of them the said 26: Christian Good, and Barbara his wife in law or equity, or otherwise howsoever, of, in, to or out of the same: To have and to hold the said 27: Messuage, Tenement, and piece of Two acres of Land, with the said water right in to and about said Spring Hereditaments and Premises hereby granted and released, or mentioned or intended so to be, 28: With the Appertenances and every part thereof unto the said Samuel Bowman, and to his Heirs and Assigns: To the only proper 29: use and behoof of him the said Samuel Bowman and his Heirs and Assigns forever. Under and subject to a propor- 30: tionable part of the Yearly Quit rents (if any.) 31: And the said Christian Good for himself, his Heirs, Executors and Administrators, doth covenant, promise, grant and agree, to and 32: with the said Samuel Bowman, and his Heirs and Assigns, by these presents.....That he the said Christian Good 33: and his Heirs, the said above mention and described Messuage, Tenement, and piece or lot of two acres of Land, as described, be it more or less, with the 34: Hereditaments and Premises hereby granted and released, or mentioned, or intended so to be, with the Appertenances, unto the said Samuel Bowman, and to his Heirs and Assigns; 35: against him the said Christian Good, and Barbara his wife and their Heirs, and against all and every other Person and Persons, whomsoever lawfully claiming, or to 36: claim the same, or any part or parcel thereof by from or under him, her, them or any, or either of them shall and will Warrant and for ever Defend, by these Presents. 37: In Witness Whereof the said parties to these Presents, have hereunto interchangeably set their Hands and Seals, dated the Day and Year first above written. [Endorsements] (1.) Sealed and Delivered In The Presence Of Us Danl. Bowman Abm. Biocler Jnr (2.) Received the day of the date of the above written Indenture, of and from the above named Samuel Bowman the sum of One hundred and ninety five dollars in Gold or Silver Money, it being the consideration money mentioned in full. Witnesses present at signing. Christian Guth Danl. Bowman Abm. Bixler jnr. (3.) Lancaster County, ss. Be it remembered, that on the fifth day of October Anno Domini, 1826 before me, Abraham Bixler Esquire, one of the Justices of the Peace of the said county, personally came the above named Christian Good, and Barbara his wife and acknowledged the above Indenture to be their act and deed, and desired that the same might be recorded as such, according to law...........In Testimony Whereof, I have hereunto set my Hand and Seal, the Day and Year above written. Said Barbara being of full age and being by me, in due form of law examined separate and apart from her said Husband-the full contents of the above deed being, by me first made known to her. The said Barbara upon such seperate examination as aforesaid, declared that she did voluntarily, and of her own free will & accord seal and as her act and deed deliver the same without any coercian or compulsion of her said husband.
