All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/lancaster/ _______________________________________________ Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, Deed Book F, page 67-70 Cocalico Township Written: May 30, 1759 Recorded: July 21, 1760 William Chancellor to Barnard Feather } THIS INDENTURE Made the thirtieth Day of May in the year of our Lord One Thousand seven Hundred and fifty Nine BETWEEN William Chancellor of the City of Philadelphia in the Province of Pennsylvania Practitioner in Phisick and Salome his Wife (the said Salome being a Daughter of John Wister of the said City Merchant by Salome his late Wife, and one of the Grand Daughters of Henry Carpenter of Lancaster County in the said Province Yeoman) of the one part & Barnard Feather of Cocolico Township in the said County of Lancaster Yeoman of the other Part WITNESSETH that the said William Chancellor and Salome his wife for and in Consideration of the sum of Two Hundred Pounds Lawfull Money of Pennsylvania to them the said William Chancellor and Salome his wife by the said Barnard Feather in hand well and Truly paid at or before the Sealing and Delivery hereof the Receipt whereof the said William Chancellor and Salome his wife do hereby Acknowledge and thereof do acquit and forever discharge the said Barnard Feather his Heirs and Assigns by these Presents HAVE Granted bargained sold released and Confirmed and by tehse Presents do Grant bargain sell release & Confirm unto the said Barnard Feather and to his Heirs & Assigns forever, A CERTAIN Piece or parcel of land Situate lying & being in Cocolico Township Aforesaid, BEGINNING at a post a Corner of Land Granted or intended to be granted to Henry Feather thence extending by the same West by South one Hundred and fifty one perches to a post thence by Part of a Seven Hundred Acres Tract South by East Twenty five Perches to a post South thirty eight Degrees West fifty eight Perches to a post North seventy two Degrees West thirty seen Perches to an Hickory South by East forty nine Perches and an half to a Post in a line of Land Granted or intended to be granted to John Johns and John Erb thence by the same East by North Two Hundred and Twenty four Perches to a post thence by Henry Stoers Land North by West Ninty Three Perches to the Place of Beginning Containing Ninty five Acres and an half Acre be the same more or less and the usual Allowance of six Acres P. Cent for Roads &c. (being Part of a Tract of Three Hundred and fifty Acres of Land which the said Henry Carpenter by Indenture bearing date the Twenty first Day of December One Thousand seven Hundred and forty three did of the Considerations therein mentioned give grant Alien enfeoff and Confirm unto the said Salome the wife of the said William Chancellor by the name of Salome Wister to HOLD the same and Premises with the Appurtenances unto the said Saloma Wister her Heirs and Assigns forever as in and by the said recited Indenture Recorded at Lancaster in Book B. Page 129 relation being unto had my more fully appear) Together also with all and Singular the Buildings Improvements Ways Woods Waters Water Courses Meadows Rights Leberties Privileges Hereditaments and Appurtenances whatsoever unto the said Ninty five Acres and an half Acre of land be the same more or less hereby Granted belonging or in any wise appertaining and Together with the free and Common use and Priviledge of the Streams of Water that Cross the Premises hereby granted (Excepting and always reserving unto and for John Johns and John Erb their Heirs and Assigns and Mary his wife of Daniel Ferie her heirs and Assigns respectively and severally the distinct and separate free right and Privilege for them or either of them or either of their Heirs or Assings at their free Will and Pleasure to make a Dam or Dams and Water Course or Water Courses to swell and Carry the sd. Streams of Water that Cross the said hereby Granted Premises over the said John Johns and John Erbs and the said Mary Feries or either of their adjacent lands or meadow Ground in order to water and refresh the same) and the Reversions and Remainders Rents Issues and Profits thereof and all the Estate Right Title Interest Property Claim and Demand whatsoever of the said William Chancellor and Salome his wife of in and to the same TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the said Ninty five Acres and an half Acre of land be the same more or less Hereditaments and Premises hereby Granted or mentioned so to be with the Appurtenances (except as before excepted) unto the said Barnard Feather his Heirs and Assigns to the only use and Behoof of the said Barnard Feather his Heirs and Assigns forever Under the yearly Quit Rent hereafter accruing for the hereby Granted Premises to the Chief Lord or Lords of the fee thereof And the said Willaim Chancellor for himself and the sd. Salome his Wife and their Heirs the said Ninty five Acres and an half Acre of Land be the same more or less Hereditaments and Premises hereby Granted or Mentioned so to be with the Appurtenances (except as before excepted) unto the said Bernard Feather his Heirs and Assigns against him the said William Chancellor and the Salome his wife and their Heirs and against all and every other person and persons Whatsoever Lawfully Claiming or to Claim by from or under him her them or any of them shall and will warrant and forever Defend by these Presents and the said William Chancellor for himself his Heirs Executors and Administrators and for the said Salome his wife and her heirs doth Covenant Promise and grant to and with the said Barnard Feather his Heirs and Assigns by these presents that he the said William Chancellor and his Heirs and the said Salome his wife and her Hiers and all and every other Person and Person whatsoever having or Lawfully Claiming or that shall or may at any time or Times hereafter so have or claim any Estate Right Title or Interest of in or to the hereby Granted Premises or any Part thereof by from or under him her them or any of them shall and will at any Time or Times hereafter upon the Reasonable Request and at the Proper Costs and Charges in the Law of the said Barnard Feather his Heirs and Assigns make execute and Acknowledge or Cause so to be all and every such further and other Lawfull and Reasonable Act and Acts Deed or Deeds Device or Devices in the Law Whatsoever for the further and better Assurance and Confirmation of the said ninty Five Acres and an half Acre of Land be the same more or Less Hereditaments and Premises hereby Granted or mentioned so to be with the Appurtenances (except as Before Excepted) unto the said Barnard Feather his Heris & Assigns as by him or them or his or their Councel Learned in the Law shall be reasonably Advised devised or required. IN WITNESS whereof the said Parties to these Presents have interchangeably set their Hands and Seals hereunto Dated the Day and Year first above written. The Within named William Chancellor and Salome his wife Acknowledged the within written Indenture to be their Act and Deed and desired the same as such might be recorded the said Salome thereto voluntarily Consenting she being of full age secretly and apart examined and the Contents of the said Writing first made known unto her.
