All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/lancaster/ _______________________________________________ Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, Deed Book F, page 63-66 Cocalico Township Written: May 30, 1759 Recorded: June 15, 1760 William Chancellor to Henry Feather } This Indenture made the Thirtieth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and fifty nine Between William Chancellor of the City of Philadelphia in the Province of Pennsylvania Practitioner in Physick and Salome his Wife (the said Salome being a Daughter of John Wister of the said Ciety Merchant by Salome his late wife and One of the Grand Daughters of Henry Carpenter of Lancaster County in the said Province Yeoman) of the One part and Henry Feather of Cocalico Township in the sd. County of Lancaster Yeoman of the other part, Witnesseth that the said William Chanceller and Salome his wife for and in Consideration of the sum of Two Hundered pounds Lawfull Money of Pennsylvania to them the said William Chanceller and Salome his wife by the said Henry Feather in hand well and Truly pay or Cause to be payd at or Before the Sealing and Delivery hereof the Receipt Whereof the said William Chancellor and Salome his Wife do hereby Acknoweldge and thereof do Acquit and forever Discharge the said Henry Feather his Heirs & Assigns by these Presents have granted Bargained Sold released and Confirmed unto the said Henry Feather and to his Heirs and Assigns forever, A CERTAIN Piece or Parcell of Land situate lying and being in Cocolico Township aforesaid, BEGINNING at a Post a Corner of land Granted or intended to be granted to Barnard Geather thence extending by the same West by South One Hundred and fifty one Perches to a Post thence North by West seventy one Perches to a Post thence West by South five Perches to a Post thence North by West Ten Perches to an Ash Tree marked thence East by North fourteen Perches to a Post by a Branch of Cocolico Creek thence along the same Branch on the Several Courses thereof ninty five Perches to a Post Standing by the said Branch thence by Daniel fieres Land and lines of Marked Trees South sixty Degrees East forty six perches and an half to a post and North Seventy Degrees East Seventy Eight perches to a post thence by Henry Stovers Land South Twenty degrees East Twenty Eight Perches to a Black Oak South ten Degrees East thirty four perches to a post East by North thirty four Perches to a White Oak and South by East eighty one Perches to a Place of Beginning Containing Ninty five Acres and an half Acre be the same more or less and the Usual Allowance of six Acres P. Cent of Roads &c. (being part of a Tract of Three Hundred and fifty Acres of Land which the said Henry Carpenter by Indenture bearing date the Twenty first day of December One Thousand seven Hundred and forty three did for the Consideration therein mentioned gie grant Alien enfeoff & Confirm unto the said Salome the wife of the said Wm. Chancellar by the Name of Salomea Wister TO HOLD the same and Premises with the Appurtenances unto the said Salomeas Wister her Heirs and Assigns forever and Thirty Two Acres of land which the said Daniel Fiere by Indenture bearing date the Twelfth day of June One Thousand seven Hundred and fifty did for the Considerationt therein mentioned Grant bargain sell Alien release and Confirm unto the said Salome the Wife of the said William Chancellor by the name of Salome Wister in fee as in and by the said Two recited Indentures Recorded at Lancaster the former in Book B. page 129 the later in Book A. page 224 &c. Relation being thereunto respectively had may more fully appear) TOGETHER also with all and Singular the Buildings Improvements ways woods Waters Water Courses Meadows rights Liberties Privileges Hereditaments and Appurtenances Whatsoever unto the said Ninty five Acres and an half Acre of Land be the same more or less hereby granted belonging or in any wise appertaining, And together with the free and Common Use and Prviledge of the Streams of Water Cross the Premises hereby granted, (Excepting and always reserving unto and for Barnard Feather his Heirs and Assigns John Johns and John Erb their Heris and Assigns and unto and for Mary the Wife of Daniel ferie her Heirs and Assigns respectively and Severally the distinct and separate free Right & Priviledge for him them her or either of them or either of their Heirs or Assigns at their free Will and Pleasure to make a Dam or Dams and Water Course or Courses to swell and Carry the said Streams of Water that cross the said hereby granted Premises over the said Barnard Feathers John Johns and John Erbs and the said Mary firies or either of them adjacent Lands or Meadow Ground in order to water and refresh the same) And the Reversions and Remainders Rents Issues and Profits thereof and all the Estate Right Title Interest Property Claim and Demand whatsoever of the said William Chancellor and Salome his wife of in and to the said TO HAVE AND TO HOLD said Ninty five Acres and an half Acre of land be the same more or less Hereditaments and Premises hereby Granted or mentioned so to be with the appurtenances (except as before Excepted) unto the said Henry Feather his Heris and Assigns to the only use and Behoof of the Henry Feather his Heirs and Assigns forever under the Yearly Quit rent hereafter accruing for the hereby granted premises to the Chief lord or lords of the fee thereof And the said William Chancellor for himself and the said Salome his wife and their Heris the said Ninty fie Acres and an half of a Acre of land be the same be More or less Hereditaments and Premises granted or mentioned so to be with the Appurtenances (except as Excepted) unto the said Henry Feather his Heirs and Assigns against him the said William Chancellor and the said Salome his wife and their Heirs and against all and every other Person and persons Whatsoever Lawfully Claiming or to Claim by from or under him her them or any of them shall and will warrant and forever Defend by these Presents And the said William Chancellor for himself his Heirs Executors and Administrators and for the said Salome his wife and her Heirs doth Covenant promise and Grant to and with the said Henry feather his Heirs and Assigns by these presents that he the said William Chancellor and His heris and the said Salome his wife and her Heirs and all every other Person and Persons whatsoever having or lawfully Claiming or that shall or may at any time or times hereafter so have or Claim any Estate right Title or Interest of in or to the hereby Granted Premises or any part thereof by from or under hm her them or any of them shall and will at any time or times hereafter upon the reasonable Request and at the Proper Costs and Charges in the Law of the said Henry feather his Heirs and Assigns make execute and Acknowledge or cause so to be all and every such further and other lawfull and reasonable Act & Acts Deeds or Deeds Device or Devices in the law Whatsoever for the further and better Assurance and Confirmation of the sai dNinty five Acres and an half Acre of land be the same more or less Hereditaments and Premises hereby Granted or mentioned so to be with the Appurtenances (excepted as before excepted) unto the said Henry Feather his Heirs and Assigns as by him or them or his or ther Councell Learned in the law shall be reasonably advised devised or required, IN WITNESS Whereof the said Parties to these Presents have interchangeably set their Hands and Seals hereunto dated the day and year first above written. Wm. Chancellor Salome Chancellor Witnesses Psent at signing Isaac Greenleaf Robert Levers. THE first Day of June One Thousand seven Hundred and fifty nine Before me Emanuel Carpenter Esqr. One of his Majestys Justices &c. the within named William Chancellor and Salome his wife Acknowledged the within written Indenture to be their Act and Deed & desired the same as such might be recorded the said Salome thereunto voluntarily Consenting she being of full Age Secretly and apart Examinded and the Contents of the Contents of the said Writing made known unto her.
