All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/lancaster/ _______________________________________________ West Cocalico township Written: January 1, 1849 Recorded: January 21, 1849 Sharp Adam & wife to John Mentzer } This Indenture made the first day of January in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty nine: Between Adam Sharp and Susanna his wife of West Cocalico Township in County of Lancaster and Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Yeoman, of the one part, and John Mentzer of the same Township County and state aforesaid, She the said Susanna being a daughter of Frederick Mentzer late of West Cocalico Township in the county of Lancaster and he being Seized in and by a Certain messuage or tract of Land lying and being in said West Cocalico Township in the county of Lancaster; and the said John Mentzer and Susana Mentzer now Intermarried with Adam Sharp being the only lawfull decendents or legal heirs to the estate of Fredrick Mentzer deceased and the said Frederick Mentzer by his last will and testament, orders his Real Estate to be sold by way of Public Sale after his decease Which being recorded in the Register’s Office in the city of Lancaster in and for the county of Lancaster. Whereas John Mentzer and Susana the wife of Adam Sharp being the only children and lawfull heires the the said Real personal Estate of the said Fredrick Mentzer deceased which consisted of ten acres and perches with the appurtenances for which the said Adam Sharp and Susana his wife did by way of private Sale, Sell and convey Release and confirm unto John Mentzer all their right clame, interest and demand of the said real Estate of the Said Frederick Mentzer deceased, Now this Indenture Witnesseth That the said Adam Sharp and Susanna his wife for and in consideration of the sum of three hundred dollars good and lawful money to them in had paid by the said John Mentzer and and before the ensealing and delivery hereof the rreceipt and payment whereof the do hereby acknowledge and thereof doth acquit and forever discharge the said John Mentzer his Heirs, Executors and Administrators by these presents the have granted, bargained, sold, aliened, enfeoffed, released and confirmed, and by these presents grant, bargain, sell, alien enfeoff release and confirm unto the said John Mentzer and to his Heirs an assigns all their right and title which by law was due and coming to us out of the real Estate of Frederick Mentzer deceased of a certain Messuage or Tenement or tract of land Situate in West Cocalico Township in the county of Lancaster and commonwealth of Pennsylvania Bounded and described by the Lines as follows, to wit; Beginning at a stone thence by land late of Michael Miller now the heirs of James Coleman (deceased) North Eighty five degrees West thirty perches to a post, thence by land of Christian Henly, South seven and one quarter of a degree West forty four perches to a stone, thence by land late John Mentzer or Elizabeth Frountz now Levi W. Mentzer, South eighty-five degrees, East forty three perches to a stone, thence by land of late John Snerly now Fredrick Ruly, North nine degrees and one half a degree West Forty four perches to the place of Beginning Containing ten acres and Six percehes, It being part of a larger tract of Forty six acres and one hundred and twenty four perches and the usual allowance of Six percent for Roads &c which John Mentzer, Fredrick Mentzer, Michael Oberly and Anna his wife and Mathias Druckenbroud and Veronica his wife John Snerly and Catharine his wife by deed of release or Instrument of writting, bearing date the 26th day of Febuary in the year of Our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety four for the consideration therein mentioned and after reciting as therein is recited have granted, released and confirmed the same unto a certain Conrad Mentzer his heirs and assigns forever, and the said Conrad Mentzer and Hannah his wife by their Indenture bearing date the eight day of August one thousand seven hundred and ninety five, for the consideration therein mentioned did grant and confirm the same to John Mentzer his heirs and assigns, and the said John Mentzer and Margaret his wife by their Indenture bearing date 1795 for the consideration therein mentioned did grant and confirm unto Fredrick Mentzer his heirs and assigns forever as by the said recited Indenture will more full and at large appear reference thereunto being made Together with all and singular the hereunto houses, edifices and buildings their on erected and being; and all way waters, water courses, woods, trees, fences, curders, orchards, rights, liberties, privileges, advantages, hereditaments and appurtenances whatsoever thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining and the reversions and remainders, rents, issues and profits thereof and also all the estate, right, title, interest, use trust property possession, claim and demand, whatsoever of them the said Adam Sharp and Susana his wife or any of them or their heirs or assigns in law or equity, or otherwise howsoever of in or out of the same. To have and hold the said piece or tract of land containing ten acres and six perches of land with all the hereditaments and premises hereby granted and released or mentioned or intended to be with the appurtenances unto the said John Mentzer his heirs and assigns to the only proper use, benefit and behoof of the said John Mentzer his heirs and assigns forever: In Witness Whereof the said Parties to these presents have hereunto interchangeably set their Hands and Seals, the day and year first above written, Adam Sharp {Seal} [German signature] Susanna Sharp {Seal} [German signature] Sealed and delivered in the presence of Levi W. Mentzer; Wm H Paul Lancaster Count, SS, Be it Remembered, that on the first day of January in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty nine before me the subscriber, one of the Justices of the peace in and for said county personally came the above named Adam Sharp and Susana his wife and acknowledged the above Indenture to be their act and deed, and desired that the same might be recorded as such, according to law.
