He was from Lancaster Co., PA and had served in the 195th Regiment Pennsylvania, Company K. He mustered in 7/24/64, out on 11/4/64. The 195th was a "100 day unit." He died in 1898 and is buried in Millport (PA) Union Cemetery (formerly Millport Mennonite Cemetery), Lancaster Co., PA. On September 2, 1920, Fanny Johns, his widow, filed for widow's pension under application no. 1166826 in the State of Pennsylvania. No certificate number is given, which likely means she was not awarded the pension.
