Christian Funk died in 1835 in South Huntington Twp. Westmoreland Co. These records only show the military service of Christian Funk but also give us his fathers name, Henry's full name was probably John Henry but have not been able to prove that. The *camp* spoken of in the 22 Nov 1777 record is believed to be Valley Forge, as it was being built in the vicinity at this time, this has not been proved. Also note the in the original record Wagon was spelled with two letter *g*s. November 22, 1777 Elizabethtown, Lancaster Co. PA 8th Class Henry Funk appeals and says that he has been employed a waggon Capt Zieglers Master, has been at camp and obliged by obligation under Company hand and seal to return to camp with his Brigade, and his son Christian drives his own team [said Christian being in the same class with his father] & he prays that this Court would prolong their march until the return home again, then they are willing to serve their tour of duty.
