Before Wm. McBee an acting justice of peace. States he resided in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, and about November 1, 1777, in said county. He was drafted for two months tour in a company of Capt. Alderbrook which was attached to the regiment Comd. by Col. Grubb, and was ordered out by Col. Grubb as a scouting party in pursuit of the Tories. That they marched to several places and took about 200 Tories prisoner and delivered them to Col. Grubb, who was then stationed there too at Lebanon, and his company was then stationed there too, for the purpose of guarding the Hessians and after his tenure of service expired, he received his discharge from Capt. Aldenbrook--that he still resided in Lancaster County, Pa., and sometime in May 1878 was again drafted for two months tour under Capt. Shoulder Attached to Col. Cloninger and marched to the West branch of the Susquehana River, where he was stationed to guard the frontiers against the Indians. States that shortly after he returned from the last mentioned campaign, he moved to Washington County, Va, and about August 1, 1780, was again drafted for three months and was attached to Col. Campbell and Capt. Deasy and marched to North CArolina King's Mountain in pursuit of the Tories, where they were stationed under Col. Forgason, where we had a severe battle and gained victory over the British and Tories and we then guarded the prisoners to Wilks County Court House, in said state, thence marched to Washington County, Va, where this applicant received his discharge from Capt. Dasey. Shortly after return from the last tour, he moved to Sullivan County (then known as Franklin Government-now Tennessee) and sometime in March 1781, he was drafted for three months duty and he belonged to Co., of Capt. Wearan, which said company was attached to Col. Shelby and marched to big creek to guard the frontiers, then recieved discharge from Capot. Wearan. States he was born in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania in 1755. He lived a while in Sullivan County, Tennessee, and now lived in Claiborne County, Tennessee.
