(Clearfield, Pa.) January 27, 1858 The trial of Anderson and Richards, the murderers of Mrs. Garber and Mrs. Ream, near Manheim, came on, in the Court of Oyer and Terminer, on the 21st inst. Alexander Anderson was tried first, for the murder of Mrs. Garber, and the jury brought in a verdict of "Guilty of murder in the first decree." On the 22d the other prisoner, Richards, was to be tried, and no doubts exist as to his conviction. The trial causes much excitement, and as the prisoners were conveyed between the Court House and the prison, they were jeered and hooted by the crowd.
