(Lancaster, Pa.) 1864-1928 April 30, 1880 Mrs. Mary Sloan, aged 80 years, met with a serious accident at the residence of her son-in-law, James L. Messenkop, No. 15 Middle street, on Wednesday. She was in the act of coming down stairs when, making a misstep at the top of the stairway, she pitched head-foremost to the bottom. Fortunately none of her bones were broken, but she was so severely bruised and jammed by the fall that she has been confined to her room since the accident.
