The remains were interred in a grave yard near Kissel, on the Litiz turnpike, about four miles from the house. The train of carriage and horsemen was probably the largest ever seen in the county; over four hundred carriages alone were in the procession, and not-with-standing the solemnity of the occasion, the exictement, among the people, through fear that the guilty might escape the punishment so justly due them, is said to have been terrible in the extreme, and it is expected that not less than a thousand people from the surrouding country will be in town on Saturday to attend the hearing of the prisoners. The feeling of indignation is intense, and threats are freely made that the prisoners will not be allowed to return to the prison alive. We trust, however, that no unlawful act will be attempted, and that the "sober second thought" will prevail against any violence. The two negroes under arrest have been fully identified as the two men who were seen to enter the house of the two unfortunate victims. The Adams Sentinel, Gettysburg Pa December 28, 1857 Additional Comments: April 12, 1858 TASGP - The two negroes, Anderson and Richards, the brutal butchers of Mrs. Gerber and Mrs. Ream, of Manheim Township, Lancaster County, were executed on Friday last, in the prison yard at Lancaster. Anderson has made a full confession and enumerated a number of other crimes than the one for which he was executed.
