Mr. and Mrs. Henry E. Slaymaker Married Fifty Years. The fiftieth wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Henry E. Slaymaker was celebrated on Tuesday at their home, corner of Duke and Chestnut streets. During the day many friends called and tendered congratulations on the happy event. The house was handsomely decorated and many handsome presents were received. Among them was a photograph of an invitation from General Cadwalader to General Steele, grandfather of Mrs. Staymaker, to meet General Lafayette on September 22, 1821, when he visited this city. Two of the guests on Tuesday were present at their marriage. Mr. and Mrs. Slaymaker were wedded at Harmony Hall, near Gordonville, on October 20, 1853. The bride was the youngest daughter of Captain John Steele. Mrs. Mary Cowell, of Woodbury, N.J., and Miss Susan R. Slaymaker, are the children of Mr. and Mrs. Henry E. Slaymaker.
