Items of Interest Gathered from Terre Hill and Vicinity During the Week. A new cement walk was laid in front of the properties of Dr. J. W. Royer, on Main St., which makes a decided improvement. On account of the death of Harry Glasser, L. C. Smith was appointee substitute Rural Route Carrier on the Terre Hill Route. Teachers' Examination for East Earl and Brecknock townships, was held last Friday, in the Terre Hill High School Building, by Prof. Daniel Fleisher, County Superintendent. The Evangelical & United Evangelical S. S. have changed their time of meeting from the afternoon, to the morning. The former at 9:00 and the latter at 9:30 A.M. Note the change. Last Saturday evening a party was held in honor of Miss Bessie Delier, at her home, on her 24th birthday anniversary. Twenty-five friends were present from Lancaster, Terre Hill New Holland and Beartown. All spent a very pleasant evening, playing different games, after which refreshments were served. On Saturday evening, the Iroquois Band of Lancaster, with thirty pieces, will be at the Terre Hill Park, and will give a grand concert, commencing at 7:45 P.M., at the First Annual Bazar (sic), under the auspices of the Y. M. R. C. A handsome prize will be given away at the gate to the lucky person. There will be all kinds of amusements. If you want to hear good music don't miss this event. The Children's Day Services last Sunday in the T. U. E. Church, proved to be very successful. At 10 A.M. the pastor Rev. G. A. Maurey gave an illustrated talk to the children. His subject was "Post Card Messages from the Bible." It was very interesting and also instructing. At 7:30 P.M. the regular Children's Day program was rendered, which consisted of songs, recitations and exercises by children. Music was also furnished by a Chorus, which was very beautiful. The service as a whole proved a success. Last Saturday afternoon, Adam Beam, blacksmith for Sol. Frankhouser, met with quite a painful accident. While assisting J. C. Miller to start his gasoline engine at the Terre Hill Shirt Factory his left hand was caught between the wheel and the foundation of the engine, making an ugly wound. He was removed to the office of Dr. J. W. Royer, where Drs. Royer, McConnel and Wenger attended him. The wound required a number of stitches. This accident will keep him from work for some time. PERSONALS. H. J. Wolf and family were visiting at Samuel Reitz's near Mohnton, on Sunday. Mrs. John Gast and daughter of Lancaster, were here on Sunday, the guests ofWm. K. Weaver and family. Messrs. Samuel and Leporte Slater of Reading, were here visiting J. M. Slater and family on Wednesday. Mrs. Elizabeth Royer daughter Mary or (sic) Lancaster, were here on Sunday, at Wm. K. Weaver's and other friends. Nathan Hagy, wife and daughter, of Ephrata, were here the guests of Wm. and Lemon Lutz on Sunday. Mrs. Lizzie Handwork of Reading, was here a few days, with her daughter Mrs. Geo. E. Morgan. Rev. G. A. Maurey and family are at Dauphin Co., visiting the former's parents Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Maurey. Mr. and Mrs. Martin Wolfkill and two children, were the guests of the latter's parents, near Stone Hill, on Sunday. Mrs. W. W. Eisenhart, of Morrisdale, Clearfield Co., is here spending sometime with her brother Mr. Geo. C. Good and family. Mr. Peter Warfel and daughter Minnie of Millersville, were visitors with Rev. G. A.
