(Lancaster, Pa.) 1864-1928: April 30, 1880 Miss Maud Apple, youngest daughter of Rev. Dr. Thos. G. Apple, of Franklin and Marshall college, died at an early hour this morning, at the residence of her parents, on the college campus, in the 13th year of her age. Miss Apple was an unusually bright and intelligent girl and beloved by all who knew her. She was a close student, took great delight in her studies in school, and stood among the most meritorious in her classes. She was in apparent good health until last Sunday, when she complained of headache and on that account did not accompany the family to church. On the return of the family from church, Miss Apple was found to be seriously ill, from congestion of the brain. She rallied for a time, but taking a relapse, grew rapidly worse, and on Monday became unconscious and remained in that condition up to the time of her death. In respect to her memory the college bell was tolled this morning at 6 o'clock, and the session of the college was closed immediately after prayers. Her funeral will take place on Sunday afternoon, and will be attended by the faculty and students of the college in a body. Maud M., daughter of Thomas G. and Emma M.
