All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/lancaster/ _______________________________________________ COLUMBIA RAILROAD MAN DIES OF FALL Injuries received Friday night when he fell between two freight cars on which he was working on the Pennsylvania railroad, at Conewago, proved fatal to Clayton Baltzil, 43, of 16 North Third street, Columbia. He died yesterday morning in the Harrisburg hospital from loss of blood and shock. Baltzil lost his balance while working and fell on to the tracks where a freight car passed over his legs severing them below the knees. He was taken in the engine of the train to Royalton where he was transferred to a passenger train and on that taken to Harrisburg. He was employed by the railroad company for 25 years. He was a member of the Columbia Lodge No. 117, -.R.T., and P. R. R. Relief, the Columbia Fraternal and Beneficial Association, the Chicques Lodge No. 207, I. O. O. M., and the Presbyterian church. He was unmarried. Surviving are the following brothers and sisters: Arthur and Mary, with whom he made his home; George, of Columbia; Harry, of York, and Harriet, wife of Charles Penwell, of Marietta. Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon, 1:30 o'clock, private at the home, and at 2 o'clock in the Presbyterian church. Interment will be in Laurel Hill cemetery.
