The Body of the Venerable Daniel Brown to be Here This Evening. The body of the venerable Daniel Brown, who died at Port Providence, Montgomery county, on Wednesday morning, at the age of 83 years, is expected to arrive this evening, Daniel Brown, Jr., the son, of No. 531 North Queen street, having started for it at 12:58 on Wednesday afternoon. The funeral will take place from the residence of Mr. Martin Dorwart, the well-known moulder, who is a son-in-law of the deceased, and lives at 533 North Queen street. The interment will be made at Lancaster cemetery. Mr. Brown was a remarkable man and belonged to a family remarkable for their longevity. He was born in this city and lived here all his life until thirteen years ago, when he removed to Port Providence. For thirty years he was an active and consistent member of the First M. E. church, this city. His wife, who survives, was eighty-two years old last December. The deceased had seven brothers and sisters, only one of whom survives - Mrs. Dorothy Elizabeth Black, who is eighty-six years old and lives with her son on West James street. Another sister, Mrs. Sanders, died in Columbia about a year and a half ago, aged 96 years. Mr. Brown's surviving children are Mary, wife of John Kepplinger, living at Phoenixville, Montgomery county; Barbara, the wife of Daniel Brown, Jr., and Angeline, the wife of Martin Dorwart. There are seventeen surviving grandchildren. The deceased was widely known and universally respected, and his death, which occurred from old age, will be greatly deplored.
