He was tax collector of the township for many years and was superintendent of Nottingham cemetery. Mr. Brown was an active Republican. His death resulted only after a few weeks confinement to the house, but he had been in poor health for a considerable time. The interment will be at Mt. Olivet burial ground on Saturday where his wife was buried years ago. Mr. Brown was the fourth generation of James Brown from England, one of the Friends who settled on the Nottingham Lots near Calvert in 1701.
