Francis V. Dias, 77, of 2619 Sutton Place, Neffsville, died Saturday morning at
Lancashire Hall after an illness of one year. The husband of Ellen Greene Dias,
he was born in Monongahela, Pa., a son of the late McCandless Shields and Jenet
Caldwell Dias. He lived in Lancaster since 1969. He retired in 1961 from the
real estate department of West Penn Power Co., Greensburg, Pa., and afterwards
was associated with the Pennsylvania Department of Highways in real estate
operations. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Erie, Pa. He served as
president of the Purchasing Agents Assn. in Pittsburgh in 1932 and in 1971 was
honored as 50-year member of Franklin Lodge, F&AM, of Pittsburgh. Besides his
wife, he is survived by two grandchildren.
