STAUNCH REPUBLICAN, KNOWN AS THE DEAN OF SQUIRES, SUCCUMBS AFTER LONG ILLNESS. W. Sherman Doebler died at his home this morning at 12:23. Mr. Doebler in the 63 year of his age having been born in this city June 7, 1865, son of the late James Coyle and Catherine Doebler. Survived by his wife Mrs. Anna M. Doebler and three children, Alderman Charles R. Doebler Mary C. Shue Lancaster and Walter B. Doebler of New Cumberland. One grandson W. Sherman Doebler 2nd, one brothr Amos L. Doebler of Lancaster and two sisters Mrs. Walter Pontz Lancaster and Mrs. Robert Leahey of Chicago. Burial at Woodward Hill Cemetery. Lancaster New Era, April 30, 1928
